I have crafted most of the day. Took a break and went to a resturant by Bolivar and Lon and I had hot cobler and ice cream and of course coffee. He is now watching a football game on TV and I am taking a little break. Have the book done for the Dr. that I work for. It is a birthday present for her on Monday. Have to take beef veg. soup Monday for a pot luck birthday lunch. Hope we get more than 30 minutes.
Got a lot of the stuff moved for Buffy and Kyle yesterday. Think we got home around 5:30. Long day but felt good helping them. Guess in about a month we will be moving Lisa to Meg's house. Like I said "Things will be fine in 2009." So until the next post.............keep on living!
Jan. 01 2009 It's the NEW YEAR
Happy happy New Year to ALL!
Well New Year's Eve wasn't what we thought it would be like. Here's the brief story. I highlighted and printed the directions off of the email that Ted sent Lon. Okay I didn't proof them because I did just exactly how I would any other time I highlight and printed selected print. Folded the paper in 1/2 and grab it as we were going out the door. I grabbed my cell, and was going to tell Lon to get his; but I thought I have mine and no one calls him on his cell anyway so I didn't think about it again. All fixed up, and Dad shaved and did his ear hairs even and had on a blue shirt and new kahki pants (have cargo pockets is that weird for him or what?). And off we go to Springfield. We follow the directions and no such street off Blackman road. We drive and drive and look and look and after an hour in the same vacinity we find a fire station and one of the fireman look it up on a map and they don't find it in the area it was suppose to be. They find one on the other side of the highway but none in the area that we think it is. So after an hour and almost 45 minutes and Lon getting madder by the minute and no Lon's cell that had the phone number in it, we go to Appleby's on the north side and have dinner. Well our food is only luke warm and the bake potatoe won't even melt butter. So the waitress Elle Mae just a nick name she told us brings him a steaming hot potatoe. I couldn't even eat my fries and you know that I am Miss Potato Head. So we ask the waitress about what goes on in the kitchen how the food is brought out, etc. She apologizes and gets the manager. She comes to the table and we tell her all about it. We got our meal FREE, so Lon gave our waitress a large tip. We come home, and no road blocks or check points. Lon had one beer and I had coffee. We get home about 11:30 and Lon says look at this email there is more to it than printed. So I show him how I printed it and it did the same thing. Well it cut off 2 turns, but when it prints it looks like those 2 turns don't exist, it makes perfect sense. So.......at least he didn't blame me. Hurray for that. I played a game till midnight, went in and gave Lon a kiss and laid down on the couch. Lon was watching a DVD about WW II generals I had got him and he got me up at 2 to go to bed. Got up a little before 7 this am and turned on the coffee and played a game. Got Lon up at 7:50 so he could wake up a little before we went to Spfld to help Buffy and Kyle move. Spent all day up there. Lon drove the truck and trailer and I stayed at the old apartment and cleaned the bathroom top to bottom and left the shower sprayed down with stuff so it would clean easy. Shampooed the bedroom and a little of the living room. Needless to say I didn't see the new apartment. But, I will before the week is over. After we left the old apartment we went by and saw Lisa and I dropped off Buffy and Kyle's picture to get copies made and the picture of Amy and her family to have copies also made. We got subway and Lon ordered flat bread. Now what is up with that? Mr. Bread Head and he orders flat bread. Weird choice for him. Came home and he plopped down in front of the tube to watch football and I started the dishwasher and laundry. Cleaned the stove and called Gma since she called while we were at subway. Was worried that I hadn't called this morning. Won't say anymore about that because I want to remain calm. I am having some chi tea now and will work on the Dr. I work for a birthday present to take on Monday. I have tomorrow off. Really like these 2 day a week work weeks. But, that will change next week. Back to the old schedule. Oh well she is going skiing sometime soon so will have some more time off. Hurray!!!!

Have a list of things that I have to get done, like get pictures made off the photo card in the camera, scrap book stuff etc., along with the good old housework. That sure doesn't go away. LOL

Less than 18 hours and we ring in the NEW YEAR
Here is the COUNTDOWN for the year of 2008. My oh my have we had some good and not so good things happen. But, the new slogan for 2009 is "IT WILL BE FINE IN 2009!" Going to make some posters for all over the house and see if this will remind me each day to say it over and over. Keep some positive things flowing!
Jan 08 Trinity went to Rome and marched with the Highlanders for the Pope. We didn't have a terrible ice storm like the year before.
Feb 08 We met Kyle. We had some icy weather but not terrible. Lon started insulating the studio and putting up sound panels. Amy, Des and Zek moved to Fort Campbell.
Mar 08 My life changed as far as my work. Dawson turned 3. We visited Clarksville and saw Amy and Des and Zek's new home they bought. Lon turned the big 65. Sarah became the new city clerk of Morrisville. We celebrated EASTER!
Apr. 08 The city election was held and Lon got the most votes in town.
May 08 Des left for Afghanastan. I turned the big 50 complete with a party!!! Lon found out his right carotid artery was blocked and had emergency surgery and thank God he survived.
June 08 Portia turned 3. Finally got my building over to our yard. Zek started swim lessons. Dawson started playing T Ball. Zach got his GED. I became employed at the Elf. clinic.
July 08 We had a 4th of July celebration at the Graves' deck. We went to Tennessee for Zek's 3rd birthday. Megan and Buffy became a year older.
Aug 08 Mom and Lindsey gave me all the stamps and stuff to go with it. I felt like I had hit the mother load. Dawson starts pre-school and Papa Lon became the Thurs. afternoon Dawson sitter. Dawson starts soccer. We had a new shed built and got rid of the unsightly metal sheds.
Sept 08 We celebrated big time our 7th anniversary as a married couple. I had my first grandparents day at MCE.
Oct 08 Started work on the kitchen to get it remodeled. Dawson got his Shrek costume for Halloween and Carson was a skunk.
Nov 08 Des came back for R&R. Had a great thanksgiving. Zek got a puppy!!!! Kasey becomes a firefighter for Battlefield! Kyle and Buffy pick out an engagement ring. And baby Carson turned a YEAR OLD!
Dec.08 It is offical Kyle and Buffy are engaged. Great Christmas time. My Lincoln died and could not be re-vived.
There are just some of the brief highlights of 2008. Say good-bye to the bad things. Put the memories in our hearts and minds of the good times.
Tonight we go to Tornado Ted's New Years Eve party. Don't think we will stay a long time. Maybe a couple of hours. Have a new sweater to wear. Thanks Meg and Buffy for finding it for me and telling me it looks like MOM.
Tomorrow we help Buffy and Kyle move into their new apartment. How exciting for them. Lisa looked at Meg's house to rent and I think she will be moving in Feb.. How great for Lisa and for Meg and for Buffy. See I am sure that things will be fine in 2009. Not sure if I am going to make New Years Resolutions. Think I am going to make a list for changes in my life for 2009. Maybe that way it will be easier to achieve success.
As we enter into a new year let us take some moments to thank God for all the blessings that he gives to us. Let us not dwell on the bad, but celebrate the GOOD, no matter how small the good is. Let us be more forgiving, more tolerant, and more loving. Lord keep us safe from harm, help us to put the devil in his place and fill our hearts with joy and happiness. Keep praying for Des and all the men and women serving our great nation. Help the new administration coming into the white house dear lord. Help them make choices that betters ALL people. Even though we did not vote for this administration be with them and guide them to prosper our nation, not tear it down and make anger and hate. Dear Lord give us patience when we are troubled or angered. Help us to count our daily blessings and bless the food that goes to the nourishment of our bodies. Help to wipe away tears of sorrow and celebrate joys and accomplishments.

The Happy Couple
And here they are the engaged couple. Buffy and Kyle went with his family yesterday for family photos. Can you imagine all of our family going for a family photo session. Holy cow there would be a ton of us. What a time that would be. LOL
Megan and I went to the mall yesterday morning. I hadn't been to the mall in over a year. Got a new gold top for the New Years Eve party that we have been invited to at Tornado Ted's house. Back to work tomorrow YUCK!!!!
Meg goes back today. Will be sad seeing her leave but that is life. We can look forward to her next visit.
