He's Home (anybody have any duck tape?)

Last night in NICU Lon had a rough night with the nurse from HELL! She was the only BAD one he had. I wasn't sure which one would make it through the night. But, when I got there this morning and washed my hands in the unit I went immediately to the nurses station and one of the good nurses said he is going home. WOW!! He was sitting in a chair and wanting to go right then. It took about an hour and a 1/2 to get all the paper work and go over the after care instructions and then he had to be wheeled out in a wheel chair but he was HAPPY!!! We got home and he was going to drive to the resturant for coffee. WRONG> NO DRIVING so I took him up there. He visited and laughed with people. He came home and then took a nap and then the GRAVES DECK was the visiting ward. A lot of company tonight. So, I hope that he sleeps well tonight and has a good day tomorrow. I am going to take FMLA because he is going to need a baby sitter to keep him from doing all the things he shouldn't. Thank you all for the prayers and the family support. All the girls need to be thanked for all their help and love. Will update you all tomorrow to his progress.

SURGERY SUCCESSFUL AND JUST IN TIME

Wow wow wow that's all I have to say. FINALLY got Lon to the ER this morning and they ran a CT and an MRI AND MRA and found that his carotid had broken off 2 minute clots into the brain. So, at aprox 3:30 this afternoon (Mon) they took Lon to surgery and it was a SUCCESS. He hit the Dr. coming out of the drugs and pulled out his neck drain tube but the surgery went well and it is fixed. They put him in NICU tonight and Megan and I went in to see him. He still wasn't with it and his blood pressure was dropping but they are really experienced and good in that unit so we came on home. He may get to come home tomorrow if everything comes back to normal. The nurse who is a male told me that I will have my hands full when he comes home. Please everyone say your prayers for Lon and for me!!!! We got this taken care of just in time from what the Dr. said. So, if we would have waited on the VA in Little Rock he would have had a stroke. So, he is going to be better than normal and get some energy back. Long day but I am still wound up and gotta be up early to be in there when the Dr. comes in so I know just what I need to do to take care of him. Will give an update tomorrow. Love you all dearly and we sure dodged a bullet on this one.
