Right now it is sleeting and raining a little. I have the boys since Sarah went to play bingo at Springfield with her Aunt Tammy. We have watched 3 new videos I got Dawson. Thomas the train, Bob the builder and kids songs. It was fun watching him try to do the actions and the words to the song peanut, peanut butter and jelly. It is 9:43 and Carson has been asleep quite a while but I am having a hard time getting Dawson to sleep. He is laying down now but he was an hour ago and then got up. So, don't know if he will go to sleep anytime soon. Carson should be waking up soon for another bottle. Dawson is doing good with going pee in the toliet. I got the cushie tushie seat for the stool but it didn't fit real tight so it got his jeans wet earlier so I washed them and he ran around with no clothes. He didn't mind. He painted and wrote with colored pencils on paper, decorated cookies, ate a few bites of his Dora ice cream, ate chips and dip and drank Bunny milk.
I have had a FULL evening. I forgot how busy you are as a mom of little ones. Guess I am spoiled or old don't know which.

Close to the weekend

My oh my what a week at work. Seems like it has been a year all in one week and I wasn't there Monday. Only have to make it thru 1/2 day tomorrow and then it is the weekend.
Saw two of my grandson's today and talked to one on the phone. Zek counted in Spanish for me. It was GREAT! Dawson got a haircut and it looks good. Carson was hungry and chugging a bottle. That sure does make up for all the stuff that goes on at work. Can't wait to get them all together when Amy and Des come in at Christmas.
Meg and Buffy are done with finals. Talked with both of them on my way home tonight. So hey it is a great day when I can talk to all four girls and talk to all 3 grandsons. Making noises counts Carson.
This time of year is so busy. We got an invite to a New Years Eve Party at Ted's house. Papa is so excited. Me, well I would be just as happy to have my comfy pants and shirt on and stay home but will go. The theme is cool JAZZ so not sure what we have to wear. Having an issue with that. Need Amy's fashion guru here for that. She is always stylin' information! GOOD TRAIT AMY!!!!!
Sunday is the Shrine Party and not looking forward to that. I didn't have any fun last year but did win a door prize of a Snowman thing. That was good and the food was good. Oh well have a couple of drinks and maybe it will be better this year. Gotta remember Amy's quote so that people don't get me down.
I'm really itching last few days. Sure hope that is not going to be the shingles outbreak again. The scar on my forehead is never going to go away and I can't afford plastic surgery. Wish I could cause I would have a face lift, eyelid lift and tummy tuck. That would be sweet.
Have got to get the Christmas cards done and get things ready for Christmas. Wish I had a few days off to get the stuff done that I need to accomplish. Oh well somehow I always manage to pull it out of the tushie. Would love to use another word but might be illegal. LOL
Wish I were more computer savy so I could make cool DVD/CD's to give you girls a special thing for Christmas. May learn real quick. Think that those are great. Megan's was awesome!!!!
Have really got to get some new pictures downloaded to post. Need a whole day just to do that.
Oh news shocker. Gma drove to town today and went to the Post Office, Fred's, gas station and Wood's. All by herself. Isn't that great. If you talk to her praise her. Remember that this is Gpa's birthday. I gotta call him. I know Amy already has. Oh and don't leave a message on his voice mail because I don't think he knows how to retrive the messages.
Well going to waste time and get my head in a game and then if I can muster up the energy go make a couple of cards. We'll see if the spirit and desire moves me.

GOOD and BAD Day

I CAN SMILE SINCE I WAS A WINNER TODAY


Okay lets start with the bad first. Had to go to work. Next bad it turned colder and started raining again. Patient load was heavy. My desk top at work was full of stuff to do. Gained one pound. Got some more medical bills that I will have deducted from my pay check. Did I mention I had to go to work??? Oh yes and on the way there I started itching all over so add nerves and stress to the BAD!

Now lets talk about the good. Buffy came by to see me on her way to work. She got her hair cut and it is really cute. My boss said she looked professional and mature. That's a good thing. Her natural curl gave it a finished look. REAL cute Buffy I like it! Megan made it to class for finals. I wasn't sure if she would because they were suppose to have bad weather. Good for you Megan. Amy called this evening and I heard Zek playing in the back ground. It is 80 down there. Shorts and t shirt weather. Good for them right? It was good to get home and get into comfy clothes and have my doctored coffee. Lon was in a good mood. All these things are good.

Now the best good news....All of the girls in the office went to lunch at this little resturant across from Sarah's work. At the resturant they have pull tabs. Who ever buys them usually gets some for everyone at the table. Well, I bought five dollars worth and gave one to each of the other 4. Our deal is if it is a winner over 5 dollars you have to split it with the person who bought it. Well everyone's was a loser that I gave them. I pulled my first one and got a dollar winner. Then I pulled the second one and I saw the 25 and looked twice and said this is 25 dollars. Man was I happy. It has been a long time since I had that big of winner. Then I pulled my last one. I looked at it and looked again and ask Carma next to me what it said. IT WAS A HUNDRED DOLLAR WINNER!!!!! So I made 101.00 today on pull tabs. YEAH!!!!!! Can you believe it. Wow I was shocked and happy. So other than having to go to work the GOOD out weighed the bad. Didn't tell Lon 'cause I want it all to myself. Selfish old broad!!!

Well that's about all for the day. Going to look at the soap updates and work on Christmas cards for a bit and then turn on the idiot box and lay on the couch and go to sleep because I get to go to work tomorrow. Oh the joy of it.

Temps are up to 43

DIDN'T HAVE TO FIRE UP THE GENERATOR THIS GO AROUND!


Over night the temps rose and it has really melted. Yuck, you know what that means....back to work this morning. Oh well, stuff happens. Thank goodness though it wasn't real bad! Hopefully Megan makes it to school because they were suppose to get it up there last night. Finals week. And I guess since that is bad weather country the instructors don't give them a break. PooPoo head. So good luck Megan and good luck Buffy on finals week.
Talked with Aunt Bunny last night since she had saw all the reports about the weather here. Sometimes the news people make it worse than it is. Everyone up there is fine.
So, time to jump in the shower and get the scrubs on and go to work. No cleaning ice off. Know that the Dr. will say some snide remark about me being gone yesterday but frankly my dears I don't give a darn. (You know I would like to use another word there.)

Monday and I did not go to work

TOOK THESE TODAY! HE IS CHANGING


Got up this morning and it was 30 degrees. Did my usual stuff and got ready for work. Still had ice all over and they were calling for some more of something this afternoon. Stepped off the last step on the deck onto the rocks and busted my butt because it was so slick. Skated to the car and pulled on the door several times to break the ice. Got the door open and started the car. Skated to the deck and came inside. Made the decision then that I am not going. I called my boss that said another person had called in last night. Oh well they were short handed and it only bothers me just a little bit. The temp. has stayed at the 30 to 32 degree mark the whole day and it is raining a little. We had a big limb fall down from the ice and some small ones. Will just have to wait and see if the rain coming down now freezes or just remains rain. Will know in the morning whether I can go to work or not. Guess the big town is not bad but all the area schools including ours cancelled today. It is better to error on the side of caution.
Made some Christmas cards this morning. Sarah called and said if Josh could get them there, she needed to go for her post partum check up so she could go back to work on Monday. Dawson also need the 2nd dose of his flu shot. So, guess who I got to keep. Thats right the little boy. He was good for us and slept most of the time. Took a few pictures of him today.
Also made the cranberry cookies that Megan gave me the recipe for. I think they turned out fine. Also made oatmeal cookies (no raisins) and some hay stacks. Trying to get some holiday goodies made in advance. Got some more pretzels to make white coated pretzels. Had some but Papa Lon got into them.
Papa Lon cancelled his colonoscopy for tomorrow. Lady from the hospital said it was very bad down there and he said he had already called the VA and cancelled it. So he didn't have to do the prep and he was GLAD!!!
Going to finish this post and play one game and then work on a few more Christmas cards. It may be Monday before I mail them but at least I will get them out.
Let me just say I felt better today not to have to go into work. Had a better out look and was much more relaxed. That should tell me something. But, I can't just quit as much as I would like to. Wish we could just win the lottery and then I would have no worries about going to work.
Would be nice if it were frozen tomorrow and the big city was bad (not as bad as January) but bad enough to keep us off the streets. Another day at home would just be sooooo pleasant for me. I have ETO time so the days would be paid. Hum......think it will be bad. Probably not so I will have to go. Oh well toture for me. Love to all.

Will it or won't it

The area is saturated with moisture and the trees all have about 1/4 to a 1/2 inch of ice on them. The pines are loaded with ice and the branches are almost touching the ground. It remains about 30 degrees, and they are still predicting it. I sure don't want a repeat of January, but I would love to be able to stay home tomorrow.
Today I worked in Buffy's old room getting things that are hers into tubs and going through my craft stuff. I was going to get started on Christmas cards and a couple of birthday cards when the phone rang......It was Dawson. He wanted to make a ginger bread house. (The decorated kind with icing and such) He had just saw one on TV and his mommy and daddy told him I would be the one to help him. Well I didn't want to go to WalMart and I didn't have any Graham crackers but I told him that I would run down to the little store and see if they had graham crackers and if they did I would be over. For 2 consecutive years I made a gingerbread house and entered it in a contest. Won first one year and 2nd the next. It is a lot of work and a lot of money to decorate them. But, long story short I paid 4 times the price for a box (small one) of graham crackers and I got 2. Had canned frosting so I added more powered sugar to it to make it stiff. Yes I know we could have baked gingerbread and made it that way, but with a almost 3 year old the attention span is not that long. Rounded up everything I could think of to decorate it with and headed over to Sarah's. There he was in just underwear. So that is how we decorated the gingerbread house. At first he didn't want to get the icing on his hands, but after he found out that it tasted good it was no problem. You will have to wait to see pictures on Sarah's blog, because I forgot my camera. Dumb mammy. It is cute and he had fun but it was just long enough. Carson slept and woke up before I left. I got to hold him and talk to him. He just looks at me. I know all the grand kids look at me and think who the heck is this crazy lady. Just their good old mammy.
Brought Babe the beagle in today and gave her a bath. What a fight. Shampooed her 3 times and Lon said she still smells a little. That's from living in a kennel with 3 other beagles. She is now sleeping peacefully on the loveseat. I will let her stay in a couple of days. We do this time to time. She was raised inside when we got her as a puppy.
Meg and Buffy are both studying for finals for the coming week. Buffy doesn't go back till I think the 3rd week of January. Not sure when Meg goes back. Sarah is dreading going back to work. And Amy is doing great. She should be walking high since she got her good grades. I was happy with a low C or high D just so I passed the course. I knew the classes I liked and did well in would lift my GPA so as long as I passed I was happy.
Gpa's birthday is the 13th. I have no idea what to get him or make him. He could just go out and buy something so it makes it quite difficult.
Lon is out in the garage building some type of frames for something. As long as he's happy I'm happy. He has to be on a liquid diet tomorrow for his colonoscopy on Tues.. Lucky him. LOL
Well I think I will turn on the noise maker(TV). Don't really watch much of it but I am tired and do well sleeping on the couch.
