PaPa Lon and Mammy

Here's the old folks at the Shrine Christmas Party 2006. Alot has changed since then. PaPa is now a city councilman here in town. He has the fishing fever again. He is a mason and shriner. He has a total of 5 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. Soon to be 6 grandsons. He is still a set in his ways, grumpy old man, but I love him despite that. We will soon be married 6 years. Really funny when your kids have been married as long. He stepped right in to be a Dad to Meg and Buffy and after a little bit of a rough start he loves being "Dad" to them. His law enforcement words are " I would take a bullet for my 6 daughters and all my grandkids." And he means it with all his heart. My way of handling him is to get him a BIG stiff drink and tell him to take a Xanax. He mellows nicely. LOL
We love our whole big family. Each and everyone of them hold a special place in our hearts. Aren't you all glad that we can't have anymore? Oh yes, let us not forget all our granddogs too and grandcats, Amy! But, you know what he does with the town cats. Our life is full of joy and happiness knowing that our kids are doing great. Life isn't always easy for any of us. But, God has blessed us with healthy kids and grandkids.

MY GIRLS and Boys

Such FINE young women I have. I may have not been the "Perfect" mother, but I did the best I could. Each one of them are unique and have qualities the are remarkable. The boys have such different personalities. I AM A PROUD MOM AND MAMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Megan you look so cool in your shades and what is that you have in front of you? FOOD!!!!!!! Buffy you looked so tan there. Sarah you were smiling in the group picture. Did you just tell a dirty joke? Amy you have a half smile. Think you were tired and hot. Our deck holds a lot of family gatherings. That is one of the best things we have done to the house. And of course in the background is all my tubs of craft stuff. Just ask Mom and she'll probably have what ever craft stuff you need. Haven' the boys grown since then? We will have to have a professional picture taken of all of us at Christmas time. Maybe we will all be smiling. Remember the one we had taken at Sears a long time ago. We all had bright colors on..........Maybe we can do all matching outfits.... And we will add Gma to it.

Living in the PAST! (MCE SOFTBALL TOURNEY)

Just another little bit of emotion today. Besides what I have written already, this weekend is the MCE softball tourney. For 4 years we were there and watching Buffy. Even Maggi. She loved going to the home games. Don't know if the girls won or lost and I really don't care but just wanted to tell Buffy how proud we were of her and let her know that we remembered her today. Dad and I discussed it this morning when all the buses were going by.

The first picture is of the MCE tourney last year. It is #42 (Our Buffy) on 3rd base. The second picture is of Sr. Night which was after she tore up her knee. That was an emotional night for her. LOVE YOU #42!!!!!!

Hot Rod Sat.

Lon took the 29 to Bolivar to a cruise in tonight. It sure looks cool now that it is all black. Don't think we have pictures to post yet but will soon. The interior still needs to be done and I think after he gets that done he will sell it. He wants to get back into fishing, so that will be his purchase from the sell of the car.

Grandma was all shook up this morning. She has an electronic devise that she enters blood glucose readings into and it also has a blood pressure cuff. It was going off and she was so flustered. So I had to make a run to Bolivar and see what it was about. I am totally ticked off at the home health agency, so if you here a big explosion on Monday you know that it will be me going off at the home health agency. Stress is the worse thing for a myesthenia patient and this is making her anxiety level sore. Stupid people.

Came home and took a nap. I am so exhausted from the last several weeks. Then I shampooed the living room carpet, cleaned the bathroom and kitchen, made old settlers beans and a meat loaf and did 8 loads of laundry. Tomorrow I will go get my nails filled and get things organized for Wed.. Will work till about 4 Wed. and then leave for Branson. Gpa will be gone on Thursday thru Sunday for a Shrine thing in Kansas City I think. So our good friend Lindsey will be on call for Grandma till I get back Friday evening. Will have my cell in case of a real emergency, but only call if it is an emergency.

The picture today is of the 29 when it was in the early stages of being worked on. Dad is out in the garage now sitting in his chair with a drink listening to the Cardnials ballgame. Probably studying the car, too. Thinking what else he needs to do to it. LOL

Getting Older each day

What a month it has been. With Gma having her myasthenia crisis and being in the hospital and then rehab, it has really wore this old body down. Getting her house in order was like having another full time job. But, after all is said and done, the house looks great and she is pleased and she is recovering at home. Maggi and I were there tonight to get insulin drawn and puree some more meats.

I am truly blessed to have 4 daughters of my own and 2 step-daughters. When people ask I say I have 6 daughters. Thats what you get when you have a blended family.

Tonight I was reflecting about when Amy, Sarah, Megan and Buffy were little and what stood out in my mind. Amy sat in her closet and colored both her feet with black permanent marker. Sarah called everything orange and when we were at a stop light said go bitch go. Megan broke the TV when she was very little because I told her to turn it off and she kept turning it back on. She also painted the floor in the kitchen with baby formula and eggs from the refrig. And then there is Buffy. She didn't talk but would roll her tounge around her lips and say I want a bite when someone would be eatting. Funny the things you think about. Guess that goes with old age. Lon and I are looking forward to getting away next Wed. We are going to Branson, which isn't very far but I don't think I need to be too far away from Gma right now. But, I do need some R&R. Our good friend Lindsey gave us a great bottle of wine to take.

NO EMPTY NEST SYNDROME

The youngest one started college today and has a life of her own. Thought I would be so sad when she left home, but I'm not. I am not happy that all the girls are gone; I am happy that all the girls are doing so well and have great lives. That's what being a mom is all about. It's just Lon, me and Maggi here. Oh yes don't forget the 4 beagles.

We got Gma home today and she was just in awe over how her house took such a transformation. She wants to get a lap top and start using the internet. Go Gma Go!

Now to complete my life I would like to win the lottery so I could stay home and just be a Mammy to my grandsons and step granddaughter. Plus do crafts and whatever I felt like.

Oh what fun that would be.
